## What it does

Prayer Audio Controller is a Chrome extension for Muslim-run businesses and personal browsers. It detects Islamic prayer times based on your location, mutes every browser tab that is playing audio when a prayer time is reached, and restores each tab to its previous state after the configured duration.

No manual action required. The extension runs entirely in the background inside Chrome.

## How it works

1. **Install** from the Chrome Web Store.
2. **Sign in** with Google or your email to start the 7-day free trial.
3. **Set your location**: prayer times are calculated on your device from your coordinates.

From that point, every prayer time is automatically scheduled. Tabs go quiet. After the mute duration, they return to exactly how they were.

## What it mutes (browser tabs only)

- YouTube and YouTube Music
- Spotify Web Player (open.spotify.com)
- Apple Music Web (music.apple.com)
- SoundCloud, Mixcloud
- Twitch and other livestreams
- Web radio (TuneIn, Radio Garden, and similar)
- Any other browser tab actively playing audio

## What it does NOT mute (by design: platform limitation)

- Spotify desktop app
- Apple Music / iTunes desktop app
- System audio or OS audio mixer
- Phone calls, Zoom, FaceTime, Microsoft Teams
- Mobile Chrome (iOS/Android: extensions not supported)

## Settings

- Per-prayer toggles (enable/disable individual prayers)
- Mute start offset: +/-0-10 minutes relative to calculated time
- Mute duration: 1-30 minutes (default: 6 minutes)
- Calculation method: Diyanet, ISNA, Egyptian, Muslim World League, Karachi, and more
